Most students planning on going to a 4 year college in Iowa need to take the ACT or SAT test for college admission. Most Iowa students will take the ACT, it is most widely used in the mid-west. It is important for senior students to take this exam early in their senior year because of the lag between taking the test itself and the time it is scored and processed. For scholarship purposes seniors need to have their best score in the bank before December. Junior studets should take an ACT sometime in their junior year. I recommend taking it after the October testing date so you have more math and science prior to testing. Information about test prep and registration can be found at Actstudent.org. Other test prep material is available on IHaveAPlanIowa.

Cost is $42.50 without the writing exam. To register go to ACT.org.
