Clear Creek Amana Schools are piloting various math materials this year. The purpose of the pilot is to evaluate new math materials for use as part of the district's math curriculum. Although students will be working with a variety of different materials throughout the fall, their learning will remain grounded in the district's math standards.

The curriculum review process started last year as K-12 math teachers attended training that helped reinforce their knowledge and understanding of the Iowa Core Mathematics standards. Teachers discussed district math standards, common instructional practices, and how well our current materials support the work they do with students. The group then discussed how best to move forward with updating materials to enhance the district's math curriculum.

The Elementary Schools will be piloting materials listed below through four cycles. Each cycle will last for approximately 4 weeks then the materials will rotate between buildings. This will allow all elementary teachers to evaluate materials for alignment to our district standards, ease of use by our students, student online learning tools, and components to assist CCA's work with Multi-tiered Systems of Supports. Throughout this pilot process, student learning and increased success in mathematics remains the primary focus of CCA teachers and administration.
